  • Coulthard to quit after Monza? - Brits on Pole
"Sad news for DC fans this morning - it looks like the veteran Scot might not even make it to the end of this season.

"Several F1 sites are reporting the ‘paddock rumour’ that he’s set to hand over to Sebastian Vettel, his replacement from Toro Rosso, after the Italian Grand Prix on September 14."

  • Is Sebastian Vettel wasted on Red Bull? - Times Online - WBLG

  • Toro Rosso looks to well-connected racers - Grandprix.com
"This [Takuma Sato's potential move to Toro Rosso] will lead to the inevitable question of whether or not the team will switch to Honda engines, although it is now probably too late in the day for such a thing to be achieved easily. There are also likely to be problems as Honda F1 is not going to want to let rival Red Bull Racing (which builds the Toro Rosso chassis) know much about the engine - and vice versa.

"Thus Sato's drive would be based on his experience and presumably on financial backing that would help the team pay for its Ferrari engine supply."

  • Red Bull blame tyre issues for poor form - autosport.com
""Tyres are proving to be the biggest factor at the moment," said Horner. "Over the past couple of months, Toyota has looked very strong tyre wise in the higher temperatures. It's not a case of our rivals suddenly 'bolting on' more performance. It's down to tyre useage and they have handled that better than us.

""We have understood why this happened and I feel we can get on top of this situation and return to our earlier form for the final third of the season, hopefully starting this weekend in Spa.""

  • What games are these? - Grandprix.com
Grandprix.com digests Bernie Ecclestone's latest comments.

"Ecclestone says that "people have now really come to the conclusion that whatever happened with Max was Max and nothing to do with anybody else and I don't think they really care any more". This is not the impression one gets from elsewhere, but one can understand why Ecclestone would be arguing that. He knows that stability is the best way to generate income and is trying to make sure that things do not get out of his control. He is realistic and pragmatic enough to understand that he is best-placed being an ally of Mosley rather than getting into a fight."

  • Sato to test for Toro Rosso seat - BBC SPORT
"…Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost said: "He has proved worthy of a place in F1.

""He would be a good fit with the Red Bull spirit, while his experience would be undoubtedly valuable to our team."

"Sato will test for the Ferrari-powered outfit at Jerez on 18 September, the day after Swiss driver Sebastien Buemi, 19."
