I’ve never been in any of the grandstands at Silverstone (the one time I went to qualifying, I was in general admission).
And yes, it’s hard work escaping Silverstone. I found myself on a gravelly track called Forest Road, and then going in the opposite direction to where I wanted to go. It may be easier if you get a bus to Silverstone rather than try to drive all the way there by car (the trains don’t solve the problem because none stop anywhere near the track).
